A week to go until the first race & the boys are testing this weekend down there- would i be too tragic if i wandered down to hang off the fence some time over the weekend? Hope all goes well with testing. http://www.worldsbk.com/en/news/latest-news/1492-vermeulen-faces-tough-task-for-kawasaki.html

Okay then kids, went down & was not the only tragic checking out the action. quite a few sheep who stopped because they saw people had pulled over, so we gave them a rev about coming back next weekend & bike racing in general.
Chris looked good to my untrained eye. A bit restricted with viewing- mainly turn turn 5-7( Siberia to hayshed) and up turn 9-10 (lukey heights). Then moved to get a look at turn 12 into the straight. Pitted a few times but not for long each time. Hopefully Bomber got closer to the action & can give his considered opinion & of course a blog from Chris.
To those of you coming down/ over for the weekend, have a safe trip & don't contribute to that idiot Brumby's piggy bank.

I think next weekend will tell the real story of where they are at. Obviousely they are still testing parts and setting up the bike.
Hope they get some good weather tomorrow and can keep fine tuning it. I reckon come race time Sunday they'll be right.

Hi, this is not what I was expecting from Chris even if they are testing parts (what parts?) they shouldn’t be at this position, lower than BMW.

I think we all need to relax about testing results. Like Michael ( from SA) said, it's not a reflection of how he will perform in a race. The past year on Suzuki has been evidence enough that he can get good results out of an underperforming bike. Better to have a bike he feels comfortable on & can improve with than one that feels out of control & giving no feedback. I suppose the helpful thing with WSBK is that there are 2 races, giving you a second bite if race 1 doesn't go quite to plan.
Good luck on the weekend Chris, will be cheering you on in a mixture of blue & green ;)

Margie obviously the problem is with Kawasaki not with Chris. This is the reason they employ him, to correct their bike. What they are saying is that this years target is tenth palace!! They admit that they are not able to go and win races. What is BMW approach? Go and take the best result possible. This is completely different attitude. What worries me more is that they may transfer this wrong attitude (Kawasaki’s) to Chris and make him loose motivation. Just for the record I own a ZX10R 2009 a GTR 2010 and a KX250F 2009. So my interest is Kawasaki to win not to loose races..

That's a nice collection of bikes ;) I own a 2005 ZX-6R (636) and the next one is going to be a 2008/2009 ZX-10R (soon I hope :D) As for the results: Kawasaki hasn't performed well in SBK for years but now they are finally investing some time and money to improve. I think they will improve during the season. And in 2011 they should have a new bike that's very different from the one they have now. That's when they want to start winning races. But first let's see what Chris can do with a bike that's under performing at the moment. I think we are going to see some very nice races! 2004 ZX-10R Black Edition!http://www.motor-forum.nl

Bas, I had a black 636, great sound with Yioshi exhaust. Good starting board but the real thrill is the ZX10R. I watched Chris in every race track (WSBK and motoGP) in Europe for years now and I know that when he is comfortable on the bike he is unbeatable especially in the rain. I’m also having a lot of track day on the ZX10 and I know that the bike has strong potential against the rest. You will be surprised to know that everything is down to teams’ knowledge and how to prepare the bike than the actual bike. If someone looks to the results in Superstock he will understand better what I’m saying. If the team prepares the bike to Chris likes he will thrive next week!!!

My opinion is that Chris & Kwaka are trying to give his fans a realistic view of what to expect this year. They are saying the same thing as BMW, except they are saying out loud that top 10 is going to be their best result for a while until the new bike is developed. BMW's best result was 6th at Nurburgring which was the end of the season. For most of the year they were around 10th or worse, a couple of times they retired.
I am a Suzuki girl but i was so glad when Chris stepped of that bike.

My green 636 sounds great with the Leovince full system on it :D I've only been riding for a couple of years and this is my first bike. And I'm loving it! But after riding a friends GSX-R1000 I really want to go with a 1000 cc bike. They are so smooth at low and midrange and incredibly powerful at the top of the revs! I've also done some trackdays with my bike but not since I crashed and broken my wrist (90 to 100 km/h highsider) I can't wait for the season to start! Looks like I'll be up al night next weekend ;) 2004 ZX-10R Black Edition!http://www.motor-forum.nl

This year is all leading up to the new bike, which I believe isn't going to be released until mid year. Until next season it's development time for both crew and parts and although Chris will ride the wheels off what he's on right now ... your appraisal that top 10 is the short term best expectation is correct. He has said this himself ... so it's no big secret. We all want to see Chris winning or on the podium ... but it's going to be a process that involves a lot of work and patience. However ... I'm sure we'll see the results of that effort in 2011
