Chris still has to dial the bike in with the new tires, as they have been testing mostly new suspension components. So He should be able to improve his lab time a bit. Lets wait and see how thing are going next weekend.

I think the only thing we can take from this test is who's ready and who's still got work to do. Also dont forget that they are pretty close times, he's not that far off the pace. I think it was only 1.22 sec, which may seem like a bit but thats not race pace, these are one off laps.

If you have a look and the times CV cut 1.5sec off his time over the weekend, and he did it in the worser weather. Obviously they are still doing a lot of fine tuning.

Lets just wait and see what happens on the weekend.

P.S. I bought a 05 636 when they 1st came out. Looked at upgrading a few times but still cant bare to sell it. Best 600 ever made :) Will have to wait and see what this 2011 ZX10 is like......

I agree with you!

Especially on de 05 636 ;)
Great bike and with a bit of tuning mine now has 123,5 hp at the rearwheel!

About the laptimes: They are so close, if he get's the bike set up well he'll be in the top 10.

Also was just looking at weather. I know the island is unpredictable but looks like it might be thunderstorms and rain.....

Superbike is no longer broadcasted on our local TV station :(

Luckily I found out in time to sign up for Eurosport 2 internet Live stream.

Thanks for the link! I checked it out but couldn't find any superbike races.

I just subscribed to Eurosport, at least for a month so I can see the Phillip Island and Portimao races. I have digital television as well but there's no eurosport 2 in the package. I'm going to order the extra sports channels so I can see the races on the big screen in the future ;)

Chris had some electronic problems during Superpole, that's why he couldn't improve his labtime. I think both Chris and Tom will do well in the two races!

To bad Chris crashed out of the race when he was in 7th place :( He could have finished in the top 10.

Let's see what he can do in the second race!

Greets fly out to all,

... underperforming bike.

... ride the wheels off.

The comments above are so true of Chris's rides for the last 3 years at least.

He's with a new team, and as you would want to do, he is really trying to do the right thing and show/prove to the team that he is worth it. That is all to do with being a racer, and having loyalty and faith in his team.

If you can't get a decent factory ride, Chris you'd be better off on a privateer Ducati. Much better off. They can do top 5 and even podium.

Today you're scuffed up from riding the wheels off an underperforming bike.

This won't be last time you'll have an off with the Kawasaki if you want to do well .... and you will try to do well.

I am concerned for your well being in 2010.

Keep the rubber side down.

Good luck for 2010.

You are right about Ducati, even the privateer bikes are very fast. But the Kawasaki bike has improved a lot over the winter. It's already much faster than last years bike. And they will improve it more during the season because Kawasaki is finally putting some effort in.

Chris tried really hard this weekend, maybe a little bit to hard ;) He made some impressive starts but during the race he couldn't keep the pace and had to push the bike over it's limits. It's very good to see him up front fighting and trying real hard to finish as high up as possible. I hope he will recover quickly from his injuries and will be fighting at the front again in Portimao.
