Hey Bas, what a horrible weekend-bikes can be fixed but people aren't always so lucky. Like everyone else on the forum glad to hear that you, & most of your mate, are ok. Rest up both of you.

- sarge Hi Sargent, He broke a vertebrae in his lower back, but it should heal without the need of surgery. He also broke a couple of bones in his left wrist and they fixed it with some screws and some external metal rods. According to the doctors it should all heal, but it will take time. I only have a bruise on my left hip and some sore muscles. What happened: We were riding on a road at about 50 kph (30 mph). My friend was riding in front of me on the right side and I was on the left side. There was a parked car on the side of the road so he moved over to the left side too. So far no problems because there was enough space between us. But as soon as he moved over to the left he hit the brakes hard and it forced me to brake hard too to avoid hitting him. Unfortunately there was some gravel and sand on the road and my front wheel slipped and I hit the deck. My bike hit his rear wheel and he got launched in to the parked car. I was sliding across the road and stopped just 1 m short of a car coming from the opposite direction. So I got lucky and didn´t hit anything except for the road. My fiend was very unlucky and hit a car. Luckily we were both wearing full leather gear and backprotectors or else he would not have survived the crash and I would have been hurt also. 2004 ZX-10R Black Edition!http://www.motor-forum.nl

According to AMCN all shall be revealed in October.
Romoured to have traction control, electronic suspension, Bosch anti-lock braking, Variable valve timing and lift and a radical big bang engine.

Hi First of all I would like to wish to Bas and his friend to get well soon!
Michael if you check my 2 commentary, I was correct in all that AMCN is saying except the electronic suspension which I think is not a mature product in the market (therefore expensive) unless they discover something good. The question is the Bosch ABS. Why Bosch? Kawasaki’s ABS is perfect on GTR and it is already combined with the traction plus the advantage to disengage with the rear brake petal. If you go on the internet and look for BMW recall you will see how many problems they have! They even discontinue the servo brakes within a year.

The K-ACT (Kawasaki's combined ABS system on the 1400GTR) system is very interesting and will probably be used in a different version on the new ZX-10R. But after reading more about it, I think it's weird that it only works on one off the front calipers. Or does it only activate one of the front calipers when you activate the rear brake only? And when you use the front brake the ABS works on both calipers? 2004 ZX-10R Black Edition!http://www.motor-forum.nl

Vermeulen turning attentions to new bike, should be testing by August. "Tom (Sykes) is doing a good job with the current bike and it is improving all the time, but our focus is on next year and the completely new bike,” he told Bikeracing.it. “There is a possibility of being able to test soon, probably in August." "I saw the bike last November while I was in Japan, but what I could see was just a prototype in the early stages, so it has probably now changed again. I know that the characteristics of the engine will be completely new, the bike will be smaller and the gearbox will be different and made so it can be replaced more easily between races.” < http://www.crash.net/world+superbikes/news/160154/1/vermeulen_turning_attentions_to_new_bike.html >

I really like this sketch, can't wait to see what it will look like in street trim! They can still ruin everything with the headlights ;) I don't think Chris will be testing at Suzuka the 7th of July, he has to be at Brno on the 11th. 2004 ZX-10R Black Edition!http://www.motor-forum.nl
